Fitness classes provide many benefits for your training.
They provide a variety to your workout. With a different workout every week, your workouts are never the same, keeping your body guessing and your mind interested. How many times have you got to the gym and felt uninspired by the workout plan you have, or even not know where to start. Classes take this guess work out for you and let you try a whole range of new exercises.
Classes are a great time saver if you are feeling too squeezed to get your workout in. Without having to find your equipment, navigate the gym and figure out rest times, you can get a quality workout done in 45 minute class.
Small group training fosters a support network for attendees. You get to meet new, like minded people who help you, push you and support you through a workout. Many people come along with friends or even make new friends from these small group training classes.
With capped numbers, the instructor has the ability to bring in a more diverse range of equipment. While a large format pump class can be great, you end up being limited to the step and barbell to work with. With small group training, the trainer can bring in more things like boxes, dumbbells, cardio equipment (rowers, spin bikes, assault bikes), ropes, medicine balls etc. The possibilities are endless which help to keep the workouts new and exciting for you.
The other benefit of capped number is that the instructor is able to give you more quality attention. While there is a certain appeal to disappearing into the background of a large format class and getting on with your own workout, it's hard to know if you are doing the exercises right and getting the most out of your workout. With a small group class, the instructor is able to ensure your technique is right, eliminating the risk of injury and helping you maximise your workout.
